You may or may not...well probably not actually...be aware that the uGet project has been around for over 11 years! uGet started in January 2003 and has been constantly and consistently improving the app and landscape of Linux Download Managers. Throughout the 11 Years, we have never had a donation drive before and I thought it might be about that time to have one...

We are making a lot of progress with the project recently which includes many things like releasing another version with some new features, updating uGet in various Repositories across the Linux World (that was a lot more effort than I expected) and because of this progress I thought it would be a good idea to do some updates to the website.

Updated on March 12th, 2014:

So far today, I have updated the About page a bit, updated the FAQs to reorganize them and add not FAQs, and finally the next thing on the agenda is the Documentation section. :)

Updated on March 10th, 2014:

I have just finished creating the new "Contribute Translations" page that will explain to translators or future translators how to participate in the translation / localization of uGet via Transifex.

Updated on March 9th, 2014:

I just finished the new Contributions section / menu for contributing various things to the uGet project...though there are some more pages to add to this section. I'm extra happy about this because I finished this just in time for uGet to be featured on the Linux Action Show. :)

Updated on March 7th, 2014:

I have just added a new Changelog page to the uGet website, I am also working on some more new features to the site today.

Updated on March 5th, 2014:

Earlier today someone asked if we had any screenshots of older versions of uGet and I thought "well that actually might be cool to upload all of the screenshots to the uGetdm.com Gallery...how could have I not of thought of that before?" So I did just that, I have uploaded screenshots of multiple versions and when I have time I would like to do more but for now there are screenshots for versions 1.10.4, 1.10.3, 1.7.6, 1.6.0, 1.5.0, 0.8, and 0.5.

We are releasing 1.10.4 officially later today so I am posting this to let all the uGetters know that the uGet Project is running a User Survey to find out more about our users. The information gathered in the survey will help us with the future of uGet as well as potentionally new ideas and features to improve uGet overall. Just for clarification, there may be some questions that do not apply to everyone so if a question doesn't apply to you then just skip the question.

If you think of a question that we should add feel free to let us know in the comments below and we'll consider adding it. We are just trying to learn a bit about our community in the hope of making it even better and making uGet even better.

Monday, 07 October 2013 19:00 | Written by Michael Tunnell

Update: Unfortunately, Google decided to remove support for NPAPI in Chrome which breaks our extension but we are working on a replacement so this blog post is currently out of date, I will make a new blog post when the new extension is done and ready for use. Sorry.

uGet Integration v1.0.1, the extension for Google Chrome and Chromium is available!

We at the uGet Team are pleased to announced the immediate availability of the Google Chrome / Chromium Extension for uGet called uGet Integration. uGet Integration was created in a joint effort thanks to Roque Pinel & Michael Tunnell. I (Michael Tunnell) would like to thank Roque for his contribution to this extension, which really entails 95% of the work, because without him this Extension wouldn't have been possible.

uGetters be sure to show your appreciation to Roque and we hope you all enjoy the extension. (click read more for download link)

This video explains how to use the Scheduler in uGet. At first it is a bit confusing as to how it works and might feel a bit awkward but once you know how to use it then you will see it is very easy and also very powerful.
